I have been working with a camera Phantom HD and I would like to know wich one is the most important difference with the Phantom GOLD.

The biggest difference between the original HD and the HD Gold has to do with thermal stability. Previously, small changes in camera and sensor temperature would change the black level of the image, making a current-session reference necessary all the time for the best quality images.

After the latest changes, the camera stays quite stable and once it has reached the working temperature, it maintains its internal temperature extremely well, minimizing the need for the CSR.

Those changes required a total overhaul of the camera, so most of the camera's internal electronics are completely replaced during the upgrade.

Other improvements had to do with cinemag interface reliability and an improved (larger - easier to clean) optical low pass filter.
