Phantom Flex Camera Arrives in September
EFD is a leading provider of rental equipment to the entertainment industry in Mexico and a total of 8 other countries. They are a “one stop shop” for cameras, lights, lenses, dollies, cranes, accessories and the trucks to transport them. Always looking to remain the most advanced and innovative provider, they added an additional Phantom HD camera to their already impressive inventory of best in class equipment.
EFD purchased their first Phantom HD High Speed over two and one half years ago. Since then, they have seen an impressive growth in both the acceptance and the use of their first Phantom HD. “We have seen where many of our High Speed users are using the Phantom for both high speed and normal speed shots. Because of the Phantom’s flexibility, ease of use and high quality output, they are very comfortable doing the complete shoot with one very versatile camera. It is very common for our customers to ask for the Phantom by name.” Says Eduardo Teran, General Manager of EFD Mexico. With projects such as the recent Mexican Bicentennial Presidential advertising campaign and sports broadcasts the Phantom has become a household name in Mexico.
The Phantom allows the user to very quickly and easily change from one speed to another (for example 1000 fps to 24, 25, 30, 60, etc.) in increments of 1 fps. The color and image quality remain exactly the same allowing for seamless integration of high and normal speed imaging. This has allowed EFD to provide Phantom equipment for projects as diverse as movies, commercials, soap operas, special effects, music videos and sports.
Throughout their Phantom experience, EFD has maintained a close relationship with Servicios Corporativos de SLAM, the distributor for Mexico & Central America and with Vision Research the manufacturer of over 12 models of Phantom cameras. This has enabled EFD to remain current with all Phantom enhancements and techniques. EFD has participated in ongoing training in order to maintain the highest level of expertise in the use of the Phantoms. This allows EFD to offer the highest caliber rental service and support in the region. In September of 2010 EFD will receive and offer their new Phantom Flex camera, the newest and most advanced Phantom camera.
