The Phantom Multi IOIOG unit simplifies multiple Phantom camera setups by acting as a multiple camera hub for sync imaging, communications, image downloads, and power. All functions of each camera can be accessed with the Multi IOIOG unit.

The Multi IOIOG controls up to four Phantom cameras by connecting to a single, local PC via 10/100/1000 Ethernet, or by connecting to a remote PC via an optional glass optical fiber link. Units can be daisy-chained to accommodate addition cameras. The Multi IOIOG also provides a video output for previewing
images on a standard video monitor.

The Multi IOIOG powers each camera, and provides a common trigger signal, sync imaging signal, and if desired, IRIG-B time code. A ready signal from each camera indicates a camera is connected and acquiring images. The ready signals are monitored by the Multi IOIOG, which then provides a system ready signal when all cameras are in acquisition mode.

The Multi IOIOI permits synchronization of multiple cameras in several ways. For example, cameras may be synchronized using the camera’s internally generated sync code, or internal IRIG-B time code. The cameras may also be synchronized to an externally generated sync code, or IRIB-B time code. If desired, asynchronous operation of the cameras is also permitted.

The Multi IOIOG is designed to function in extreme, rugged environments and bolts directly to the moving test platform/sled or aircraft. Because such environments are unfriendly to the non-hardened PC, the PC may be disconnected before a test, then reconnected afterwards. With this single reconnection to the Multi IOIOG images and data from all cameras can then be quickly downloaded.
