Image-Based Auto-Trigger
An innovative new feature from Vision Research called Image-Based Auto-Trigger may be installed on your Phantom camera. This feature allows the user to trigger the camera from motion detected in the live image. The camera may also provide an external trigger signal based on the Image-Based Auto-Trigger to be used for synchronizing multiple Phantom cameras.
The Image-Based Auto Trigger feature may be available via an on-camera user interface, the Phantom RCU, the Phantom application software, or 3rd party software using camera control protocols.
WARNING:
The Image-Based Auto-Trigger feature should never be used in applications where missed or false triggers cannot be tolerated or where a false trigger could cause harm to people or property. The hardware signaling available in some Image-Based Auto-Trigger modes should be used only to synchronize multiple Phantom cameras together and should never be used to trigger or control any other external device or event.
CONSEQUENCES RESULTING FROM SYSTEM FAILURE, FALSE TRIGGERING OR MISUSE OF THIS FEATURE ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE USER.
The Image-Based Auto-Trigger feature is a convenient and intuitive way to trigger your Phantom camera based on changes to the live image. Simply specify a region of the live image to monitor for change. Using an intuitive user-interface on the Phantom RCU, Phantom PCC software, or Miro eX touchscreen, tell the camera what percentage of the pixels in that region must change for a trigger event to be generated. Define the amount of pixel variation that determines this change. And, tell the camera how far back in time to compare the current frame to.
Useful in applications where a event is unpredictable in time, but predictable in location, intensity and speed -- lightning studies, ballistics, animal studies, etc.
Selectable rectangular region-of-interest:
- "Draw" a box with Phantom PCC software or the Phantom RCU
- Select from common ROIs on a Miro eX
- Manually enter ROI coordinates
Selectable percentage of ROI that must "change" from reference frame to create a trigger event
Selectable amount of pixel variation to determine that a "change" has occurred
Selectable reference frame (historical frame against which the current frame is compared)
On cameras equipped with an A-Sync signal, optionally generate hardware trigger signal
