What is the maximum length of cable that can be run without using an Ethernet hub or switch?

___ The maximum length a Cat 5e or Cat 6 can be used before you need a repeater, is 90-100 meters.

This 100 meter length, however, includes the
vertical drops and all passive connections such as the patch cables from the
switch to the patch panel and the patch cables from the jacks to the
computers (or other types of nodes).

To get longer distances, you need a repeater (switch/hub). You can also extend your length by using fiber optic cables.

Can I use the unused ethernet port on a wireless computer to share internet with something else? I have a computer that has a wireless connection to my router. I want to connect something that isn't wireless and is in the same room as the computer but isn't near the router. Can I use that unused ethernet port from that computer to connect the other device to the network?

While I was working on an aircraft carrier I had to change position of my v9 camera extending the lan cable to more than 150 meters. I was very worried it wasn't going to work at such distance, but everything went fine.
Phantom v9 works even at 150 meters distance. Great.
