With the introduction of some of our newer cameras like the v710 and v640, we've included a built in mechanical shutter that eliminates the need to shade the sensor when doing a Current Session Reference (CSR). This is a huge benefit to customers who have cameras in hard-to-reach or remote locations. Now, they can get the ultimate in image quality with just the click of a mouse.

This feature is so popular on our newer cameras, that we've created a external version for use on our v5.2, v7.3, v9.1 and v10 cameras. Watch this video* to learn more about the benefits of the External Mechanical Shutter as well as how to install and use it. The video will walk you through mounting the shutter on the camera and setting up our Phantom Camera Software so you will never have to touch your camera again to perform a CSR.
